Accounting for companies that work with AI agents
Evaluate a shared accounting system of record for founders, accountants and AI agents. Understand the early-access scope before moving company books.
One set of books, three ways to work
A founder needs a clear view of the company. An accountant needs the entries behind each total. An agent needs structured data and precise operations. PolyAccounts brings those needs to the same double-entry ledger, rather than asking a model to reconstruct the books from screenshots.
Agents can retrieve exact decimal balances, follow ledger evidence, create and update records, soft-delete supported records, and execute accounting workflows. People can inspect the same records and drill from reports into the ledger. The agent connection is an interface to the company books, not a separate copy of financial truth.
Start with a question you can verify
Ask what changed in expenses between two explicit periods. A useful answer states the company and currency, calculates the difference, identifies the accounts that changed, and cites the dated entries. The synthetic demo includes the complete data and a runnable example so you can check the answer yourself.
A second evaluation can test a permitted write in an approved synthetic workspace. Read a record and its revision, make the change with a stable idempotency key, then retrieve the result and receipt. A retry should not create a second accounting event.
Who should evaluate it now
The first audience is developers building accounting integrations and accounting practitioners reviewing those workflows. A new company can use the demonstration to decide whether the data model and controls fit its intended processes.
PolyAccounts is in early access for supervised evaluation with synthetic data. Do not migrate real company books or use it for statutory records at this stage. Production readiness, operational support and jurisdiction-specific requirements need separate validation before a real-data cutover.
What to evaluate before choosing a system of record
Check that your accounting model fits the chart of accounts, company boundaries, currency handling and close process. Test imports, export completeness and evidence retrieval. Make sure the accounting practitioner who will review the books can understand the resulting entries.
An agent-compatible interface is only one part of the decision. Verify operational readiness, required local accounting features, recovery procedures and support. If you need a production accounting service today, evaluate established alternatives against those needs.
